Brambles Golf Classic 2012
22nd September

As everyone appeared to be on holiday, the annual Brambles Golf Classic needed to be moved from early September to the 22nd. Yet again the weather was just perfect and the day unfolded under a clear blue sky - not a raindrop in sight! The day attracted around twenty competitors and helpers. The entrance fee was in aid of Brambles funds. Practice started early at 10am and the course proved to be even more of a challenge than last year. Jim had designed an excellent layout and, in what is quite a small space, had squeezed in nine holes. The day before, the grass had been cut, holes sunk into the ground and everything prepared for the Saturday's event. An excellent buffet lunch was laid out in the Lodge by Lesley, Marion and Liz who, all day, provided an almost continuous stream of tea & coffee!

The enjoyable day was a great success and was completed with the presentation of the John Ward Memorial Trophy - Match Play, by his daughter Kelly, to Robert and the
Golf Classic - Stroke Play Plate was also presented by Kelly to Simon.

Jim closed the event and thanked everyone who took part in our sixth Brambles Golf Classic.
